Kali Alaudeen - 23 years old native of Kayalpatnam (New Bazaar Street) - was selected by Mahindra United, one of India's top professional soccer teams (based in Mumbai) in June 2007. He is playing for Mahindra United also in the newly launched Indian Professional Soccer League ("the I League") - the Indian equivalent of the English Premier League. The second season of the league started on September 26th. Kali plays in the stopper position

I League is the successor to National Footbal League (NFL) - that began in 1996. 2007 was NFL's final year and was succeeded by I League from the 2007/2008 season.

In the inaugural season, I League featured 10 club teams - Top 8 teams from the (now stopped) NFL First Division and Top 2 teams from NFL Second Division. Each team played against the 9 other teams twice - once at the home ground and the other time at the opponent's home ground (18 matches in total - for each team). 2007-2008 I League season was won by Dempo Sports Club, Goa. After 18 rounds, Dempo and JCT were tied with 36 points each. Due to better goal difference - 22 to JCT's 18 - Dempo won the championship. Mahindra United finished Fifth

The 2008-2009 season saw 12 teams - each team playing 22 games (twice against each other). Churchill Brothers finished at the top; Mahindra United finished Fifth second year running.

I League also has a Second Division.
