- Why and on what basis Seydunganallur (2 platforms), Srivaikundam (2 platforms), one of
the platforms of Nazareth and one of the platforms of Arumuganeri alone have been
sanctioned a Medium Level elevation (even though - like all other stations in the sector - they
too are E category stations)??
The stations Seydunganallur, Srivaikundam, Nazareth and Arumuganeri are crossing stations i.e. two
line stations with simultaneous reception facilities. Hence, improved passenger ameneties are provided
due to operational need.
- Why and on what basis Tiruchendur and Arumuganeri stations alone have been sanctioned Platform
Shelters (even though - like all other stations in the sector - they too are E category
stations)?
Platform shelter is provided in Tiruchendur (it) being a terminal station where more passengers
alight. In Arumuganeri station, platform shelter is provided since more goods movement are expected.
- Why and on what basis Nazareth, Srivaikundam, Tiruchendur, Arumuganeri stations alone have been
sanctioned water coolers (even though - like all other stations in the sector - they too are E
category stations)?

- What will be the height of medium level platforms?
As per schedule of Dimensions (BG), the height of medium level platform is 455 mm above rail level
