Kayalpatnam.com>Nearly 20 years after its inauguration, one can still see construction activities going on
in KMT Hospital. What are the infrastructure activities presently underway?
Haji S.M.M.Sadakathullah>Kayalpatnam Medical Trust was started in the year 1984 and the
Hospital was inaugurated in 1990. Construction of buildings for the hospital were not completed
as per the master plan at the time of inauguration. The complete infrastructure facilities were not met out at
that time. All the departments were housed in the available buildings on a make-do basis. Even the space
meant for wards was utilised for the stay of doctors and the staff as quarters. Hence the construction activities
are going on still with the donations provided by philanthropists. The present reception and registration
counter is not sufficient to handle the out-patients. To avoid mingling of male and female patients at the
reception counter and to control the crowd, new OP block (Al-Haramain Block) has been constructed recently -
with the aid provided by Kayalpatnam Welfare Association - Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Yanbu, Tabuk
and Taif
